ZuPlex Product Range

A Glass Infill Balustrade Designed for Straightforward Installation

ZuGlass is built around 48.3mm outside diameter circular stainless steel posts in satin polished finish. Each post arrives with glass clamps pre-positioned and a circular flat base plate with 20mm diameter slot holes for anchor fixings. Posts are available as end, mid, or corner variants so the system configures precisely to your run without cutting or adapting the posts on site.

The 10mm clear toughened glass infill panels are supplied with 10mm radius corners and fitted with glass clamps containing safety dowels. The 42.4mm circular stainless steel handrail seats on adjustable saddle brackets and runs in 3.0m lengths, with internal inline connectors providing flush joints between sections. The result is a continuous, clean satin polished line from post to handrail with no exposed fixings on the face of the glass.

Grade 304 or Grade 316: Choosing the Right Stainless Steel

Grade 304 stainless steel is specified for internal applications only. It provides the same satin polished finish as Grade 316 at a lower material cost, making it the right choice for staircases, internal mezzanines, and indoor gallery balustrades where there is no direct exposure to weather or salt air.

Grade 316 is marine grade stainless steel and is required for every outdoor or coastal installation. It carries a higher resistance to corrosion and tea-staining than Grade 304 and is the only grade we supply for external glass balustrades, glazed balcony systems, and any installation within reach of salt-laden air. If you are unsure which grade your project requires, specify Grade 316, and you will not need to revisit the decision.

Top Mounted or Side Mounted: Two Fixing Options, One System

Top mounted (base fix): The circular flat base plate fixes to the top surface of your floor, deck, or structural slab. Anchor fixings pass through the 20mm slot holes, giving adjustment during installation before the post is locked off. This is the standard configuration for balconies, terraces, and open landings.

Side mounted (side fix): The post base plate fixes to the vertical face of your structure, such as a balcony fascia, staircase string, or structural beam. Cover washers are supplied for a clean finish against the mounting face. Both configurations are available in Grade 304 and Grade 316.

For staircase installations, articulated saddle brackets accommodate the handrail angle to the stair flight pitch, so the rail sits at the correct height above the pitch line as required by Approved Document K.
